Hi, my name is Greg and I decided to build a 48 foot power boat. I kind of knew what I was getting into and also had no idea. These polar opposites often co-exist when it comes to boats. I bought the plans about 10 years ago from designer George Buehler. The boat is a "Diesel Duck" 48.
Shortly there after I began accumulating the big chunks of wood that became the name sake of the project for many years to come: Pile of Wood!
Hey Greg, I'm on board with this. 48'? Sounds like a big project. He also has, as I am sure you know, a 38' version. Hope that's a big pile of wood. Good luck, post often we are all watching you.
ReplyDeleteYup, big project. And yes, Buehler has a number of Diesel Duck designs out- two friends (one has launched the other has his hull finished) built the 44 and I know of another 38 hull that was started in steel that is being finished off. The pile is big (the wood ;-0)
DeleteThe steel 38 might be Wendell Gallagher's project?
ReplyDeleteYes, Wendell's.
